Benedict Macon-Cooney
Benedict is the Chief Policy Strategist at the Tony Blair Institute. He is responsible for the Institute’s policy output, which encompasses economic and fiscal policy, health, climate and energy, science and tech, government innovation and geopolitics.
He has served at the top level of government, having started his career as an economist in Her Majesty’s Treasury. He also worked on an economic and government transformation programme in a Prime Minister’s Office in South East Asia, in President Kagame’s Office in Rwanda and in the financial services industry.
He recently led the New National Purpose series of reports, which were co-authored by Tony Blair and Lord Hague, while he has written extensively on subjects such as AI, biotech and clean tech, including for many major media outlets.
